If you stopped by Wednesday afternoon to get a scoop (or two, or three) of their famous homemade ice-cream, you probably noticed something different. The building was swarming with Brockton Rox ball-players, who were invited to Hilliards to enjoy some free ice cream. Hilliards Owner Nelson Cruz extended the invitation to the players as a way of giving back and embracing the community. The Rox visited Hillards after a difficult 8-6 loss to the New York Federals Wednesday. The 37-26 Rox play at home against the Rockland Boulders tonight at 7 p.m.
