Holocaust Rememberance to Take Place April 18
The event will be at Temple Chayai Shalom in Easton

Synagogues and congregations from Sharon, Stoughton, Canton, Easton, Norwood and Brockton will join together to sponsor the annual “Day of Remembering the Holocaust and the Bravery”, Yom HaShoah v’HaG’vurah, on Wednesday, April 18 at 7 PM, at Temple Beth Abraham, 1301 Washington St., Canton, MA. This special observance is sponsored by Temple Israel, Temple Sinai, Temple Adath Sharon, Ahavath Torah Congregation, Temple Beth Abraham of Canton, Temple Beth David of the South Shore, Temple Chayai Shalom, Temple Beth Emunah of Brockton, and Temple Shaare Tefilah.
The event will include a short service, candle lighting, reading of names, testimonies from survivors and family of survivors, and musical presentations. The 70th anniversary of the Babi Yar tragedy will also be commemorated. Everyone attending is encouraged to bring used and new postage stamps to the service to support the “Holocaust Stamps Project”, currently underway under the supervision of Charlotte Sheer at the Foxborough Regional Charter School.

The goal of the Holocaust Stamps Project is “to honor (as) many victims, one stamp at a time.” The “Day of Remembering the Holocaust” is free and open to the public.
