Hydrant Heroes: Massachusetts National Guard Shovels out Easton

Easton residents should make sure the nearest hydrant is cleared of snow.

The Massachusetts National Guard is in Easton to help shovel out some of the hydrants in town that are still buried under the snow.

MA National Guard brought one Humvee and four personnel to help shovel out hydrants on the major roadways in town.

There are over 1,400 hydrants in Easton, according to fire officials.

All hydrants would be cleared of snow if all residents shovel out their nearest hydrant. Fire Chief Kevin Partridge requested for Easton residents to get involved.

Student athletes and members of the Oliver Ames High School athletic department took the time to help Easton Fire Department shovel out snow-covered hydrants on Saturday, Jan. 31.
