Why:

  • Building Community
  • A celebration of the Keeper community: a “family” of over 2,500 volunteers who work together to deliver furniture, food and Christmas assistance to families in need.
  • Approximately 700 participants last year
  • o   Impetus for the Family Walk was the many Christmas volunteers— especially those with young children — asking “How else can we be involved at My Brother’s Keeper?” That common inquiry produced this annual event. The theme of the day is “Building Community, one step at a time.”
  • o   All funds raised by the Family Walk support our work serving families in need. In 2011, My Brother's Keeper made 7,300 deliveries which served nearly 29,000 children and parents.
