Residents "Dig in" at Taste of Easton 2011

Nearly 60 restaurants and businesses participated in this year's annual event, hosted by the Easton Chamber of Commerce

Despite months of preparation and hours of set-up at Stonehill's Roache Dining Commons Tuesday evening, President Mike Asack said preparing for the 2011 Taste of Easton was worth it.

"It's just a great way of showing off the community," he said. "I mean, look at it - this is great."

Nearly 60 Easton businesses set up tables around the room to display their products, services, or latest dish.

Managers Vincent McPherson and Ryan Keith accepted the award at the end of the night on behalf of owner David Tropeano. The restaurant served up seafood risotto, chicken broccoli and zizi and fresh mozzarella.

"This is the first year we've participated," said McPherson.

Asack and Chamber Vice President Tom Reardon said it was one of the closest votes in recent history.

Asack said approximately 400 Easton residents attended, none of whom left empty handed or without an empty stomach. He said the event is a fantastic way of displaying Easton's vibrant restaurant and business community.

"This is it," he said. "This is Easton."
