Easton Granted Additional $360K For Road Repair and Safety
The Town will receive $1,098,437 in local transportation aid funding in the 2015 fiscal year.

The Town of Easton is expected to receive an additional $361,619 in fundings for local road repair and road safety.
Eason’s Chapter 90 local transportation aid funding was increased from $732,291 to $1,098,437 for the 2015 fiscal year, Gov. Charles D. Baker reports.
“This is welcome news to have these much needed funds passed down to Easton for the important priority of road repair and safety,” Senator Thomas P. Kennedy said in a press release.

Last year, the Legislature approved the funding of an additional $100 million to towns across the state through the Chapter 90 local transportation aid funding. The funding increased from $200 million to $300 million, according to a press release.
These funds will create jobs, improve public safety and jumpstart economic growth, the release reports.

The amount of funding Easton received was determined based on population, road miles and employment.

“I am happy to see the Legislature’s intent become reality to alleviate pressure on the local tax base for maintaining town infrastructure,” Senator Brian A. Joyce said.
