The food donated in Easton to this year's Mail Handler's Food Drive on May 12, 2012 will go to the Easton Food Pantry.  You are asked to leave your donation out for the postman on that day.  A reminder that the Pantry per order of the Board of Health cannot accept food that is outdate,; dented cans, or compromised packaging.  The Pantry has been helping 60-70 families per week; your food contribution will be most appreciated

Why Go?

Monthly Bake Sale, which coordinates with spring Yard Sale.  Both events benefit the animals at this shelter.

The Easton Lions Grange Charitable Thrift Shop is open every Wednesday from 10-2 and Saturdays from 9 to 3. We are located at the intersection of Rt.138 & Elm St, next to the Union Villa. Your donations are tax deductible.

New used inventory coming in all the time. We are loaded for bear. Dining sets, end tables, couches, chairs, patio sets, glassware, prints, paintings, tools, collectibles, jewelry, nick-knacks, books, toys, bikes, records, clothing, baby things, household items, and an endless count of usable items by the many hundreds. Everything is priced to move and everyone can dicker. No reasonable offers refused.

5. Hockomock Film Festival Awards Day

Where/When?: Stonehill College Martin Center/ 3 p.m.

Why Go?:

On Saturday May 12th, the Hockomock Film Festival will hold its annual Awards Day at Stonehill College's Martin Center.  At 3:00 there will be a screening of all the finalists, followed by the Awards Ceremony at 5:00 which should be over by 6:00.   Sponsored annually by the North Easton Savings Bank, cash prizes are awarded to the finalists in four categories: drama, documentary, music video and PSA (public service announcements). Films must be made by residents of the Hockomock towns and over 400 films have been entered since the competition was founded 12 years ago as the Easton Film Festival.  "This year we received 46 entries from seven of the Hockomock towns." says head judge Gino Del Guercio "And the production values of story, sound and cinematography were once again raised to a new level.  YouTube has encouraged young film makers because they know their projects can gain wide distribution."   Be there this Saturday to see some excellent films and to support our local filmmakers.   www.hockomockfilmfestival.com
