The driver, a 38-year-old South Dennis man, was extricated from his car and then transported to Cape Cod Hospital for what officials said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

An initial investigation showed that the van had struck and snapped a utility pole in front of the Even'tide and then continued to operate on Route 6 heading east. It then struck and snapped a second utility pole located directly in front of M.A. Frazier Enterprises, police said.
