2 Injured In Cape House Fire
A 65-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were taken to Tobey Hospital after being injured in a house fire.
BOURNE, MA — Two men were injured after a fire ravaged a home on Cotuit Road Monday morning. Fire officials said the fire started just before 2 a.m. when flames from a wood stove spread to the first floor of the house.
A 65-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham. Both were treated for smoke inhalation, while one was also treated for burns. Fire officials said both men are expected to survive.
The Bourne Fire Department received help battling the flames from Sandwich, Falmouth, Wareham, Onset, Plymouth and Joint Base Cape Cod. The scene was cleared by 4:30 a.m., but the home is unihabitable because of the damage.
