The alert said Gomes was likely in Yarmouth.

Police said Thursday at about 9 a.m., Gomes knocked on the father’s apartment door in Abington and announced, “Abington police.” When a babysitter opened the door, she pepper-sprayed him in the face and grabbed the children, police said. The children, a boy and a girl, are 8 years old and 7 years old, respectively. They were placed in state custody.

Gomes’ last known address is Orient Avenue in Everett. She was charged with kidnapping, impersonating a police officer, committing a home invasion, assault, and child endangerment. She was held on $25,000 bail following her arraignment Friday.
