Weather forecast:
• Boston man found guilty of first-degree murder in Falmouth stabbing (capecodtimes.com) — A Boston man has been convicted of first-degree murder for the 2022 stabbing death of Douglas Rose in East Falmouth, with sentencing set for Thursday and a mandatory life term without parole. Prosecutors say the attack at 250 Davisville Road was retaliation over stolen drugs, while the defense plans an appeal and disputes key witness credibility, leaving lingering questions for the community.
• Lobster caught off Cape Cod has exceedingly rare genetic mutation. That saved its life. (capecodtimes.com) — A striking half-orange, half-brown lobster caught off Cape Cod is headed to the Woods Hole Science Aquarium instead of someone’s dinner plate, thanks to its ultra-rare genetic mutation. The split-color lobster will be on display when the aquarium reopens next year, adding to the region’s marine-science attractions that regularly draw visitors from Falmouth and nearby towns.
• Activists rally for climate justice in Falmouth (capeandislands.org) — Climate activists recently filled Falmouth’s Main Street and Peg Noonan Park, linking global climate justice to local action and everyday costs like insurance and groceries. Local residents, teachers, and organizers joined national figures to call out fossil fuel companies, push for renewable energy, and encourage ongoing grassroots advocacy rooted in Falmouth’s own community networks.
