• High school football participation numbers are plummeting on Cape Cod. Why? (bostonglobe.com) — Falmouth High's football team is bucking a Cape-wide decline in participation, with first-year coach Steve Aborn seeing strong numbers from a growing middle school feeder program. While many neighboring schools struggle to field full rosters, Falmouth's large sophomore group and robust seventh- and eighth-grade program are giving the Clippers a deeper bench, even as they brace for some early-season growing pains.
   

• Recognizing the Impact of the Women's Recovery Court (vineyardgazette.com) — Women involved with the justice system from Falmouth District Court are now among those served by a specialized Women's Recovery Court session based in Edgartown, offering treatment, supervision, and support instead of traditional prosecution.
