Attempted Murder in Falmouth, Police Say

Good Samaritans subdued an attempted murder suspect in Falmouth Thursday, police said.

FALMOUTH, MA — A man was charged with attempted murder in Falmouth Thursday night.

Police said the man attacked a woman with a knife at a business in the northern part of town shortly after 5 p.m. Bystanders subdued the man, police said. Officer Meghan Andrade responded to the scene and arrested him, police said.

The suspect was held without bail Thursday night. His name was not released.

The woman was medflighted to a Boston-area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The man was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a weapon, and kidnapping, among other charges.
