Bear In Boots Presents April Beer vs. Wine Dinner With Newburyport Brewing Co. and United Wines

Executive Chef/Owner Gates Rickard and his wife and Co-Owner Kate Rickard of Bear In Boots Gastropub continue their celebrated monthly Beer vs. Wine dinners with an April event showcasing Newburyport Brewing Company and United Wines.

Newburyport Brewing Company founded by Bill Fisher and Chris Webb share their passion for beer with the world with a variety of ales, IPA’s, and stouts from their brewery in Newburyport, Mass. On April 6 Newburyport Brewing faces off against United Wines, one of Massachusetts’ largest liquor distributors, which boasts a distinct wine portfolio with four divisions; Country, Connoisseur, United, and Excel.

Kate and Gates Rickard share their appreciation for local beer and wine purveyors with a monthly dinner competition which pits local breweries against local wine distributors. The couple is proud to present the April 6th instalment, showcasing a four-course menu of Bear In Boots’ signature European-inspired fare with pairings from Massachusetts-based Newburyport Brewing Company and United Wines. The menu for the evening is as follows:

1st Course

Chicken & Waffles

Crispy 5 Spice Chicken Skins, Confit Chicken Thigh

Waffle Croutons, Bourbon Maple Glaze

2nd Course

Bitter Greens Salad

Baby Arugula, Charred Radicchio, Melted Cheese

Olive Oil & Cider Vinegar

3rd Course

Skate Wing

Pan Seared Skate Wing, Parsley Puree

Butter Poached Potatoes, Grilled Lemon & Herb Stems

4th Course

Vanilla Honey Panna Cotta

Rhubarb Consomme & Strawberry Sauce
