Body Found In Water Near Cape Cod Beach: Reports

CAPE COD, MA — Massachusetts State Police told Channel 5 a body was discovered shortly before 11 a.m. near a jetty at Scusset Beach in Sagamore, near the entrance to the Cape Cod Canal.

Several groups, including the U.S. Coast Guard, the Massachusetts Environmental police department, the State Police Marine Unit, Crime Scene Services Section and state police detectives assigned to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office were working to recover the body, WCVB reported.

It's unclear who first discovered the body.

Patch has reached out to the State Police and the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office but neither returned request for comment.
