Falmouth police said Thursday a bomb squad was called to Sandwich Road after a hand grenade was discovered in a basement.
Police said they were initially called to the residence for a report of a fire. No one was hurt.
The State Police Bomb Squad arrived at the scene in the afternoon.

Police said Sandwich Road between Currier Road and Club Valley Lane will be closed until further notice.
