In celebration of our 60th Anniversary a special installation called A Peek Inside the Artist Studios will be in the Hermann Gallery, the Falmouth Art Center Faculty Show in the Landrau-Partan Gallery, and Then &amp; Now by the Cape Photo Collective (with Susan Moffat) in the Sigel Gallery.
The Reception is potluck: Bring an appetizer (sweet or savory) or a beverage to share. This event is free and open to the public.

Zen meditation every Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Community Room led by Unshin Sangaku Dan Joslyn-sensei. During each hour session, there will be directed and silent meditation. The International Book Group at West Falmouth Library is a volunteer-led group that meets on the first Wednesday of each month 3:45-5 p.m. Selections have either foreign settings or foreign authors, usually both. Cultivate and share joy through guided activities and group discussion led by Saramaria Allenby. Drop in for one session or mark your calendar for a year of joyful exploration! Free and open to all! Starts June 3 at 6:30 p.m. (the first Wednesday of each month at the library)
Saramaria Allenby is a Community Chaplain in Falmouth sponsored by Upper Cape Chaplaincy. She has practiced secular spiritual guidance for many years and has shared her talents to help many.&nbsp; She is also a Chaplain at Falmouth Hospital as well as a counselor for Kairos Counseling. Saramaria lives here in Falmouth with her family.

Resistance &amp; Resilience: The Road From The Revolution In Falmouth, 1779–1850
Members’ Opening Thursday, June 4th at 4pm. Exhibition Runs June 5, 2026 to May 10, 2027.
This new exhibition invites visitors to explore how the people of Falmouth experienced the American Revolution and how those moments shaped a new national identity in the decades that followed. Beginning in 1775, Falmouth’s residents played an active role in the fight for independence, guarding the coast, supplying troops, and supporting privateering efforts. In April of 1779, the war arrived on their doorstep when a young boy carried word of a planned British attack across seven miles of water, allowing local militia under Major Joseph Dimmick to successfully defend the town in a dramatic and defining moment now known as the Battle of Falmouth, the only land battle on Cape Cod during the Revolution.
The exhibition continues through the War of 1812, when Falmouth again faced British assault, and into the early nineteenth century, as the community turned from conflict to growth and industry. Visitors will discover how ordinary people navigated uncertainty, rebuilt their lives, and contributed to the shaping of a new nation. Through stories of bravery, endurance, and everyday life, the exhibition traces the emergence of early American ideals including faith, resilience, and opportunity. Grounded in local history but national in scope, this exhibition reveals how Falmouth’s past reflects the broader story of America’s beginnings.

Resistance & Resilience: The Road From The Revolution In Falmouth, 1779–1850
Members’ Opening Thursday, June 4th at 4pm....

Next meeting is Thursday, June 4 at 6 p.m. Time may adjust slightly with the seasons and setting sun. This club will meet until winter when southern migration starts in earnest.

We’ll meet and mingle in the community room, share sightings, photos, successful locations and tips followed by a group migration to the garden for a group sit and observation.
Bringing along a portable chair is encouraged (available outdoor seating is limited) and your favorite binoculars. Since we will be meeting inside first, you’re welcome to leave your chair on the back patio while we gather inside.

<a href="https://www.artbybuccino.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Caroline Buccino</a> is the library’s artist of the month for June.&nbsp;Whether working with florals, shells, printmaking, or collage, her art reflects an ongoing fascination with recreating the organic textures and movement found along the coast. Caroline holds a Master’s Degree in&nbsp;in oboe performance from New England Conservatory and serves as Music Director and Arts Department Chair at Falmouth Academy.&nbsp;Works on display will be for sale.In addition to original pieces, Caroline creates custom commissioned works and shares her art through her website <a href="https://artbybuccino.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Artbybuccino.com</a> and at local art fairs throughout the summer. Caroline also teaches group classes, making art accessible and fun for everyone. Her next class is Monday, June 15 from 6–8 p.m. at Uva Wine Bar. Tickets are available on Eventbrite under “Studio After Hours.”

Sea Stars Early Learning Center

Sea Stars Early Learning Center offers a balanced program that incorporates play-based learning, structured lessons, and physical activities. Children are encouraged to explore their interests, whether through music, art, science, or outdoor exploration. There’s a focus on developmental milestones, including fine motor skills, communication, and social interaction. The facility focuses on helping children develop strong social skills through group activities, games, and cooperative learning. There’s an emphasis on emotional intelligence, teaching kids how to manage their feelings and resolve conflicts peacefully. Our amazing helps kids learn to share, collaborate, and support one another, fostering a sense of community. The facility embraces children from all backgrounds and is sensitive to cultural differences, making sure all children feel accepted and valued. The facility features a large, secure outdoor play area with age-appropriate equipment. Children spend plenty of time outdoors, engaging in physical play and exploring nature. There may also be gardening activities. The building is designed with child safety in mind, featuring soft corners, non-toxic materials, and secure fencing around outdoor areas. Access points are monitored and locked to ensure only authorized individuals can enter. There’s a first aid kit and trained staff on hand at all times to handle any emergencies. The classrooms and play areas are spotless, with an abundance of natural light streaming in through large windows. The space is well-organized, with age-appropriate toys, books, and learning materials accessible to children. There’s a cozy reading nook, art stations, and sensory play areas where kids can explore their creativity. Our staff is certified in child development, first aid, and CPR, but they also have a genuine passion for working with children. Melissa Anderson and Leigh-Ellen Ferreira are two Falmouth natives who have spent many years working with children.
