The New Orleans band Ever More Nest is coming to Falmouth at the Waquoit Congregational church on Friday, July 31 at 7 pm. The concert is free and opened to the public.
Rooted in Southern musical traditions and infused with confessional 90s angst, the music of New Orleans Americana artist Ever More Nest can likewise lull you to dream and rock you right off a front porch. Ever More Nest’s dynamic, homegrown voice is complemented by expansive arrangements and rhythm section steady as a country train.
Led by Kelcy Wilburn, the band incorporates gospel, country, and blues.
“We are excited to introduce Ever More Nest to Cape Cod audiences,” said Annie Polachi, director the Waquoit Concert Series.
Ever More Nest’s debut, The Place That You Call Home (2018) was nominated for Best Alt-Country Album in the Independent Music Awards, and its single, Major Tom, named a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.
Inspiration for the band name v More Nest came from a line in a poem by Mary Ann Samyn, which Wilburn found striking in its ability to evoke an expansiveness of time and place.
The Waquoit Church is located at 15 parsons Lane in E. Falmouth at the corner of Route 28.
