'A Cappella Fest' Returns to Falmouth featuring FHS Soulfege and 2 Award Winning Collegiate Groups

Come to a fun night of spectacular vocal music on Friday, March 4th at 7:00 PM at the Cape Cod Church Rt 151, East Falmouth

On Friday March 4th, the Falmouth Choral Boosters presents the ‘3rd Annual A Cappella Fest’ fundraiser at Cape Cod Church (1205 Nathan Ellis Highway) featuring Falmouth High School’s a cappella group Soulfege along with two award winning collegiate groups: The Jabberwocks of Brown University, an all male a cappella group, and Boston University Treblemakers, a co-ed a cappella group. Adult tickets are $10 each and Student tickets are only $5 each! Advanced tickets are available from any Falmouth High School chorus student or by email at fhschoralboosters@gmail.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the choral programs at Falmouth High School and will assist chorus students with the cost of a music trip to San Francisco this April. On the trip the students will perform at the majestic Grace Cathedral Church and the famous Pier 39 marketplace, and gain invaluable knowledge and direction from David Conte, a world-renowned composer and conductor, in a personalized music workshop at the San Francisco Conservatory.

Falmouth High School Soulfege is a mixed-voice a cappella group that performs music from a variety of popular idioms. Soulfege debuted in the spring of 2013, and have since received much praise from the Falmouth community. They recently produced a Christmas album of 14 songs and sold over 400 copies to raise money for all students going on the San Francisco chorus trip. Last summer, they opened for the semi-professional men’s a cappella group Hyannis Sound, and they earned the Adjudicators’ Award at the Heritage Festival in Washington D.C in 2014.

Brown University Jabberwocks are known for their powerful musical performances, choreography, and humorous skits. Their long-standing tradition of excellence and cutting-edge a cappella remains strong after more than 60 years. They have received numerous awards, frequently have tracks on the Best of Collegiate A Cappella albums (BOCA), and have been honored in the CARA awards. The group’s past gigs include singing the National Anthem at Shea Stadium, performing at Carnegie Hall, and hosting the annual Jabberwocks Invitational, which features the finest a cappella groups in the country.

Boston University Treblemakers are a soulful co-ed a cappella group known for its diverse repertoire, energetic performances and talented soloists. Combining an intense passion for music, a fun-loving and lively spirit, and an unbreakable bond between them, the Treblemakers have become a truly one-of-a-kind collective. They have performed on countless stages, including alongside singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson during the Boston leg of his solo tour, and have recorded five studio albums.
