Drunk Boat Captain Caught in Falmouth After Passengers Call for Help: Authorities
The captain of the Dream Driven was taken into custody early Thursday morning.

Passengers aboard a pleasure craft near Falmouth called for help early Thursday morning, reporting their boat captain was drunk.
The captain was taken into custody in Falmouth on suspicion of operating under the influence.
The Coast Guard said a passenger aboard the Dream Driven called police shortly after midnight as the boat was off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard near Oak Bluffs. A Coast Guard boat intercepted the pleasure craft and towed it to Falmouth. The captain failed a sobriety test, the Coast Guard said. The captain’s name was not released.

“We took the necessary steps to ensure the passengers aboard the boat made it safely to shore, and the intoxicated boater was handled accordingly,” said Coast Guard Petty Officer Justin Darling in a statement.
