
A woman were seriously hurt Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving a dump truck and three cars on Route 6A in Sandwich.
Police said the 72-year-old woman from Sandwich was hospitalized following the crash, which happened near Quaker Meeting House Road at about 12:20 p.m.
The woman was driving one of the three cars involved in the crash. The 10-wheel dump truck was operated by a 67-year-old man from Bournedale. The drivers of the other two cars were a 63-year-old woman from Sandwich and a 55-year-old man from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. They were not hurt, police said.

Route 6A was closed for a short time as crews cleared the scene.
Police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
