The CAPE VERDEAN Experience in the Civil War

Dr. Dana Mohler-Faria will speak about the Cape Verdean Experience in the Civil War at the Falmouth Public Library, 300 Main Street,  on Wednesday, April 4 at 7 pm.  Dr. Mohler-Faria serves as the 11th  President of Bridgewater State University, and as a foundation to  his lifelong service in academic administration, he earned both his Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees in History.  He will speak about the challenges faced by free Cape Verdeans who began to immigrate to this country in the pre-Civil War era.  This is a What’s Falmouth Reading event supporting the 2012 town wide read Seen the Glory: a Novel of the Battle of Gettysburg, by John Hough Jr.  This program is offered to the public FREE of charge with assistance from the Falmouth Public Library Trustees.
