Falmouth Beating Victim Knocked Unconscious Near Restaurant: Cops

Falmouth police said four men jumped a Wellesley man near Pier 37 restaurant. Kevin Fraga, 23, of Hyannis, was arrested in the assault.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Wellesley man was jumped by four men in Falmouth Saturday and beaten unconscious near a restaurant, according to police. A 23-year-old Hyannis man identified as Kevin Fraga was arrested in connection with the assault, police said. The incident happened near Pier 37 on Scranton Avenue, police said.

The 24-year-old victim was transported to Falmouth Hospital for a possible head injury. He was kicked multiple times, police said. (Sign up for free daily newsletters and breaking news alerts from Falmouth Patch.)

"Witnesses told police that the victim was 'jumped' by four males," Falmouth police said in a statement. "While officers spoke with the witnesses another male approached and they identified him as the man that kicked the victim. Police questioned Kevin S. Fraga ... of Hyannis and he was subsequently placed under arrest."

Fraga was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (shod foot), disorderly conduct, affray, and carrying a dangerous weapon (baton). He was arraigned Monday in Falmouth District Court.
