Falmouth Blatantly Broke Noise Laws with Wind Turbines
The Town of Falmouth Knew Before The Installations The Turbines Were Too Loud By At Least 7 Decibels. Every 3 DCB increase is a doubling of sound and acoustic power to the human ear and that is simply an intolerable increase.
The Town of Falmouth withheld any and all negative information about the installations of Falmouth Wind 1. This inculded noise warning letters from the manufacturer Vestas wind company, studies not posted April 2005 Falmouth site screening report need for a Special Permit, April 2013 memo from Massachusetts Clean Energy admitting acoustical noise study mistakes in Falmouth Wind 1 noise study and a ”lost” CBI- WTOP September 12, 2012 video with the 6 million dollar questions over ARRA stimulus funds for Falmouth Wind 2.
The Consensus Building Institute was contracted at taxpayers expense for $388,000.00 to hold the Falmouth Wind Turbine Option Analysis Process (WTOP) is to engage in an open and transparent meetings to resolve the wind turbine victims complaints of a noise described as torture. The Town of Falmouth withheld information from the negotiations. A proof of guilt !

RE: Falmouth WWTF Wind Energy Facility II “Wind II”, Falmouth, MA
Contract No. #3297
Dear Mr. Potamis,
Due to the sound concerns regarding the first wind turbine installed at the wastewater treatment facility, the manufacturer of the turbines, Vestas, is keen for the Town of Falmouth to understand the possible noise and other risks associated with the installation of the second wind turbine.
The Town has previously been provided with the Octave Band Data / Sound performance for the V82 turbine. This shows that the turbine normally operates at 103.2dB but the manufacturer has also stated that it may produce up to 110dB under certain circumstances. These measurements are based on IEC standards for sound measurement which is calculated at a height of 10m above of the base of the turbine.
