Falmouth Coronavirus Update: Cases Rise To 100
There are now 502 cases of the new coronavirus in Barnstable County.

FALMOUTH, MA — There are 100 cases of the new coronavirus in Falmouth as of Monday, according to local health officials. Cases in town increased by seven since Friday.
The number of cases continues to rise across the state, and additional measures to stem its spread continue to be implemented. In addition to the Stay at Home Advisory and the closing of all non-essential businesses, Gov. Charlie Baker announced the closure of parking lots at all state beaches. Grocery stores were also limited to 40 percent capacity.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported that as of Monday afternoon, 26,867 Massachusetts residents tested positive for COVID-19. This includes 502 residents of Barnstable County.

A county resident was also among the 88 deaths in the state reported Monday. The woman was in her 90s. It wasn't immedietly made clear if the woman had pre-existing conditions.
Town officials said estimates indicate the impact of the COVID-19 will peak between April 10 and April 20. Public health officials reminded all residents and visitors, regardless of age, to stay at home and away from anyone who does not live in their house, including relatives.
