Creative memoir writing skills to be discussed by Thatcher Freund in the Hermann Foundation Room of the library from 10 a.m. until noon.
On Saturday, May 9, Thatcher Freund, a published author, journalist, editor, and writer of creative non-fiction will share his knowledge of the skills needed to write a personal history or memoir. Mr. Freund specializes in helping people write their stories by offering Memoir Services.
His talk will cover the elements of creative memoir writing including how to use good style and analysis to produce a structured narrative, representative scenes, and complex characters. He will emphasize the importance of personal storytelling and recording, both for historical value and as a legacy, noting that by preserving our stories people of the future will use them to better understand themselves.
Everyone interested is invited to attend.
