Sea Stars Early Learning Center

Sea Stars Early Learning Center offers a balanced program that incorporates play-based learning, structured lessons, and physical activities. Children are encouraged to explore their interests, whether through music, art, science, or outdoor exploration. There’s a focus on developmental milestones, including fine motor skills, communication, and social interaction. The facility focuses on helping children develop strong social skills through group activities, games, and cooperative learning. There’s an emphasis on emotional intelligence, teaching kids how to manage their feelings and resolve conflicts peacefully. Our amazing helps kids learn to share, collaborate, and support one another, fostering a sense of community. The facility embraces children from all backgrounds and is sensitive to cultural differences, making sure all children feel accepted and valued. The facility features a large, secure outdoor play area with age-appropriate equipment. Children spend plenty of time outdoors, engaging in physical play and exploring nature. There may also be gardening activities. The building is designed with child safety in mind, featuring soft corners, non-toxic materials, and secure fencing around outdoor areas. Access points are monitored and locked to ensure only authorized individuals can enter. There’s a first aid kit and trained staff on hand at all times to handle any emergencies. The classrooms and play areas are spotless, with an abundance of natural light streaming in through large windows. The space is well-organized, with age-appropriate toys, books, and learning materials accessible to children. There’s a cozy reading nook, art stations, and sensory play areas where kids can explore their creativity. Our staff is certified in child development, first aid, and CPR, but they also have a genuine passion for working with children. Melissa Anderson and Leigh-Ellen Ferreira are two Falmouth natives who have spent many years working with children.

On Saturday, February 13, Rita Lopez, enrollment Director of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe will cover the following topics as related to the Mashpee Wampanoag Genealogy: Missionaries, State of Massachusetts, Federal Census, Maps, Professional Services, Tribal Members and the Town of Mashpee.Ms. Lopez was born and raised in Mashpee until moving to Hartford, CT at the age of twenty-one. She earned her Associates Degree in Computer Science from Newbury College in Chestnut Hill, MA. Working for the Gillette Company from 1985 to 2007, she has now worked for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe since 2012.This talk and slide presentation promises to be on of great interest to all. The meeting is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend from 10 a.m until oon in the Hermann Foundation Room at the Falmouth Public Library.
