Falmouth Man Charged With Cocaine Trafficking, $12K Worth Of Coke Seized: Cops

The Falmouth man was apprehended during a traffic stop, police said.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth man was charged with cocaine trafficking after officers pulled him over and caught him with $12,000 worth of coke, police said.

Benjamin Karp, 24, was apprehended during a traffic stop shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Falmouth Police Department said in a media release.

Karp was pulled over and arrested following a joint investigation by the Falmouth Police Department and the Cape Cod Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, according to the release.

After Karp was stopped, the cops searched his vehicle, per the release.

"The search yielded approximately 127 grams of a white powdery substance concealed at the bottom of a food takeout bag," the release said. "The substance later tested positive for cocaine and has an estimated street value of $12,000."

Karp's bond was initially set at $10,000, according to the release.

"At the time of his arrest, Karp was on active parole," the release said. "The Massachusetts Parole Board subsequently issued a parole detainer, and Karp was held without bail."

The next morning, Falmouth police detectives and a police dog searched Karp's home and "seized additional evidence related to narcotics distribution," according to the release.
