Falmouth Select Board Endorses Taking Wind Turbine Victims Homes

A--Selectboard Meeting

On October 5, 2015 the Falmouth Select Board listened to the explanation and presentation of Petition Article 2 for Special Town Meeting November 10.

The presentation is at the one hour and thirty minute mark, 1:30 , on Falmouth CTV’s Government Channel. The presenter describes the option of taking the homes of wind turbine victims by eminent domain. The presentation describes several other methods and options on how to take the homes around the wind turbines away from the residential home owners.

The presentation was clear and distinct. There is no doubt what was said.

The news media is aware of these facts but continues to omit, misdirect and obfuscate any negative information about commercial wind turbines.

The Falmouth Select Board later agreed more renewable energy is needed in Falmouth.

The Select Board unanimously with absolutely no questions over the eminent domain and several other methods of taking the wind turbine victims homes endorsed Petition Article 2 for Town Meeting.

B. The Falmouth Select Board is aware of “Eminent Domain The Solution - Letter”

The co-sponser of Petition Article 2 wrote a Letter to the Editor in the local newspaper on October 2,2015

If there was any doubt what so ever about the intent of Article 2 petition this quote below confirms the Eminent Domain intention of the sponsers of the article. The Falmouth Select Board do they read the paper ? They are aware of the intent.

Quote :
“I suggest that the selectmen retain a real estate expert, if they haven’t already done so, to determine the value of all abutting properties based on comparable properties that do not abut wind turbines, and then make an offer to each owner for a voluntary buy-out. If there are any holdouts, then the town should simply take the properties upon payment of the assessed value on which the owners have based their current tax payments.”

C .The real scandal of the Falmouth wind turbines : Health and property rights ignored

Now apparently respectable, official bodies are effectively colluding to hide the true facts from a trusting public.

Why aren’t journalist investigating this ? Sooner or later an editor or journalist will write an article without ommiting the negative facts of the poor siting of commercial wind in Massachusetts and the so called “mistakes.”

Most journalists and editors are afraid of the so called war on fossil fuels in Massachusetts causing the collateral damage of our neighbors for the renewable energy “agenda.”

State and local politicial have become so cynical and decadent that we no longer expect our trade bodies, our institutions, our government departments to behave with a shred of decency.

The proposal that the Town confiscate the property belonging to up to 200 residential homes in the wind zone that are suffering injustice and harm because of the negligence of the Town of Falmouth is breathtakingly obtuse.

The Petition Article 2 opens the Pandora’s box of “eminent domain,” that the property values of a vast number of homes have been adversely impacted by property devaluations of 10%, 20%, 30% or more.

The actual number of families and citizens that would have a valid claim against the Town, and who could insist that the Town pay them “just compensation” for their properties is huge.

A contested eminent domain litigation case over property valuations usually runs 5 to 8 years decided by a judge and or jury. At the current rate Falmouth taxpayers will pay more for the litigation than the original costs of the turbines.

Will you be aware when history repeats itself ?
