Cape Cod Shooting Threat: Suspect Referenced Orlando Massacre, Police Say
A Falmouth suspect is in custody after threatening a school shooting and referencing the Orlando massacre, police said.

Falmouth, MA — An East Falmouth teenager who threatened a school shooting made references to the Orlando massacre, police said.
On Saturday, police said they received a tip that the 17-year-old teen made the threat and planned a "suicide by cop" scenario. He said he had access to "multiple" firearms and an explosive device, police said.
Officers located the teen at his residence.

"He was only found with an Airsoft replica pistol and several knives," police said in a statement. "A search of the home did reveal one shotgun and two rifles, however all were properly secured."
The teen was transported to Falmouth Hospital for a mental health evaluation then court-ordered to a stay at a mental health facility.

The FBI is involved in the investigation.
