Falmouth Town Meeting -Wake Up Call- Wind Turbines

FOIA document : Megan Amsler letter never seen by the public : signed Chair, Falmouth Energy Committee, Friends of Falmouth Wind-

The purest form of democratic governing is practiced in a Town Meeting. In use for over 300 years Falmouth is destroying the process through a series of omissions over wind turbine documents hidden from the public and Town Meeting

Town Meeting Members have to ask when do all these omissions became lies

In April of 2013 Falmouth’s Town Meeting voted down a measure that would have authorized borrowing to dismantle the two publicly owned turbines.

Up to 200 neighbors have complained about noise from the tortuous Vestas V-82 type 1.65 megawatt wind turbines. Their complaint a lack of sleep leading to health problems.

Town Meeting Members may find it hard to believe but the "Friends of Falmouth Wind", or simply "the Friends, is the name of a present political movement in Falmouth, Massachusetts that has advocated extreme measures against a minority group of home owners suffering the health affects of two town owned commercial megawatt wind turbines.

The Friends stress opposition to the residents living around the turbines that they must give up their health and property rights for the greater good.

Over a period of years the Falmouth Select Board has appointed members of FFW to local boards and committees. The agenda is to keep the turbines operating 24/7 at any cost both health and financially.

Falmouth Town Meeting Members need to ask their Select Board Members these questions :

A. Just prior to the April 2013 Town Meeting the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center sent a memo to the Town of Falmouth that the original wind turbine tests done prior to the first installation of the first turbine, Falmouth Wind 1 were flawed. This is the April 2, 2013 Staff memo to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Board of Directors - The memo confirms test results were estimated and were wrong. The town had the memo prior to Town Meeting.

B. At the time of April 2013 Town Meeting it has been found through FOIA, Freedom of Information Requests that the town hid a noise warning letter from Vestas the manufacturer of the turbines that the turbines generate 110 decibels of noise. The town knew the turbines were too loud. The town had the letter back in 2010.

C. In the most recent FOIA,Freedom of Information Request, it has been found the chair person of the Falmouth Energy Committee wrote a letter on March 4, 2013 to Richard K. Sullivan Jr., secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.Sullivan was also Chief of Staff to the former Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick.

The letter requests for the state to deny financing to remove the Falmouth wind turbines.

The letter was signed Megan Amsler and under the signature: Chair, Falmouth Energy Committee and Friends of Falmouth Wind

The local news media and public officials have had this letter for years. It's a public document the Massachusetts energy and environmental affairs received the letter March 7,2013. Why has the local media and politicians kept the letter in the dark. How much control does the Friends of Falmouth Wind have over the community ?

Falmouth Town Meeting has lost control of its government to " Friends of Falmouth Wind" denying any and all negative information about health, saftey and litigation costs to the citizens of Falmouth.

The March 4, 2013 letter written by Megan Amsler also by her own admission, an affiliation to Friends of Falmouth Wind as stated in her letter is at the least an ethics violation under state law. That violation would be an appointed official of the Town of Falmouth using her position to sway the outcome of a Town Meeting vote a few weeks later in April of 2013.

The Falmouth Select Board appointed Megan Amsler to the Energy Committee

Town Meeting Members need a full accounting of how much in legal fees has been paid by taxpayers over the wind turbines. The Friends of Falmouth Wind has an agenda to use the Massachusetts court system over the last six years to deny the home owners around the turbines their due process.

Folks, It’s pit neighbor against neighbor, the most recent FOIA document : Megan Amsler Letter never seen before by the public :
