Falmouth Town Meeting Wind Turbine D?j? Vu Again ? 4/5/2016

Wind turbines are an inefficient, unreliable financial and legal fiasco for the town. How many more hundreds of thousands litigation in fees?

Falmouth Town Meeting Wind Turbine Déjà Vu Again ? April 2016

The town violated its bylaw by running Wind 1 without a special permit. The town for 5 years has fought what it called “no-brain” lawsuits against the wind turbine victims who suffer a lack of sleep and health issues from the out of compliance wind turbines. The town hid a noise warning from Vestas wind company for 5 years that the turbines generate 110 decibels of noise. How do you win that in court ?

The wind turbines are an inefficient, unreliable financial and legal fiasco for the town.

What was supposed to be a clean energy source has now become a public health issue.

The town has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on special counsel for turbine-related matters and no end in sight. How much will they ask April 2016 town meeting for a transfer of free cash to pay for legal fees, including for the turbine-related lawsuits ?

With seven or more wind turbine lawsuits pending will the current budget go through the end of the year ? Time to start asking questions now !

The Falmouth Zoning Board of Appeals meets again January 28, 2016 to discuss a Special Permit for Falmouth Wind 1. The 110 decibel noise level from the hidden Vestas wind warning letter from 2010 has still not be inputted in any noise study or decibel map of the area around Wind 1. Falmouth Wind 2 has no noise study and there is no noise study of both wind turbines operating together.

To make matters worse the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center in an April 2003 memo from staff members to the MassCEC Board of Directors admitted so calles acoustic noise “ mistakes “ in the noise tests for Falmouth Wind 1.
