Falmouth Trio "Three-Legged Dog" Performs Benefit Coffeehouse

Falmouth trio performs a benefit coffeehouse for the Schwartz family of Sandwich, who are facing medical and financial challenges.

Join Falmouth’s classic and contemporary folk group “Three-Legged Dog” for an evening of music for a good cause on Saturday, January 9 at 7:00 P.M. at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation. This event, which is welcoming and accessible to everyone, will raise funds for the Schwartz family of Sandwich, who are facing medical challenges posed by a rare form of cancer. Doors will open at 6:30 P.M., seating is coffeehouse-style at tables and refreshments will be available for sale. Donations will be accepted to help the Schwartzes – father Steve, mother Deborah, and son Ethan, with continuing medical expenses.

Three-Legged Dog performs classics from the 60s-70s folk and rock repertoires, as well as contemporary folk in close harmony. This Falmouth-based trio featuring Wendy Nelson, Pamela Rothstein, and Elias Lieberman will be joined by percussionist Tony Scalisi and bassist Laird Boles. Three-Legged Dog has been together for over a decade, born of the threesome’s collaboration in music at the Falmouth Jewish Congregation, but expressing their secular musical tastes. Among the artists to be performed are the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, and Lucinda Williams.

In May of 2015, Steve Schwartz was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called Central Nervous System (CNS) Brain Lymphoma, a brain tumor that is highly aggressive and, although treatable, grows back in 80% of patients.
