Falmouth taxpayers by now have to know they have been taken advantage of ! It’s understandable how embarrassed Town Meeting Members must feel.

Your losing money on the wind turbines. The 4 year old turbine on the base just had its gear box replaced for $600,000.00 and a special crane for $150,000.00. This is the future of Falmouth Wind 1 & 2 .

Barnum and Bailey said : Let’s Face It: Falmouth Taxpayers Are Suckers.You are only a sucker if you fall for failed ideas more than once. The taxpayers of Falmouth bought two wind turbines !

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, MassCEC was once known as the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, MTC.

These turbines were purchase with state and federal money and now the Town of Falmouth is paying back on loans ?

Folks your paying for the same turbines twice ! They couldn’t sell Falmouth Wind 1 at an auction it was so old.

How long before you the taxpayers wake up. You got taken buying turbines they always knew were too loud. Now your pouring money into a lost cause.

The agency was set up as a semi-quasi state agency to advance renewable energy in Massachusetts. The agency is funded by a renewable energy tax from all electric bills both commercial and residential. You the taxpayer pay for all this.

First, The MassCEC state agency bought Falmouth Wind 1, paid for flawed studies and attorneys and sold a turbine already paid for once by you the electric ratepayers. They sold the Falmouth Wind 1 turbine to the town in which local residents are paying back municipal bonds. The turbine is being paid for twice by the same taxpayers.

Second, The MassCEC and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection helped Falmouth get a 6 million dollar grant from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). This money is federal tax dollars paid by you to the federal government. State official have told town officials that if Falmouth Wind 2 comes down the taxpayers in Falmouth will have to pay for the wind turbine again ?

Taxpayers need to start asking some serious questions why are they taking your health , property rights and now making you pay for the wind turbines twice.

The MassCEC now is “ helping “ the Town of Falmouth pay its litigation fees with money they already collected from electric rate payers.

Here is a portion of a press release from the Mass CEC stating they will pay for the Town of Falmouth litigation fees :

“With this funding, MassCEC seeks to help the town recover costs associated with project curtailment. To date the town has incurred unexpected costs resulting from community concerns, voluntary reductions in operation due to unanticipated sound levels and related litigation.”
