Falmouth Wind Turbine Heroines and Heros: A Special Thanks

"The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center wind turbine noise studies are a study in dishonesty. " When do omissions over health become lies ?

Heroines and Heros are your neighbors admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.

Massachusetts wanted commercial megawatt wind energy to play a significant role in its land-based renewable energy agenda.

Former Governor Deval Patrick committed Massachusetts to a goal of installing 2,000 megawatts of wind energy before 2020 as part of his plan to increase our supply of renewable energy, reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, and make Massachusetts a global leader in clean energy.

Massachusetts today has the distinction of taking the health and property rights of thousands of citizens.

The Massachusetts Democratic Party Platform called for an all out war on fossil fuels and made the decision to fight that war like a real war. In order to place up to 2500 commercial wind turbines in Massachusetts a second class group of citizens had to be created. Massachusetts is the fifth most densely populated state in the country. Our politicians knew they had to take the health and property rights of a minority of citizens to achieve the agenda.

To date twenty one communities have second class citizens with lost health and property rights.

Time ran out for Patrick’s ambitious goal for land-based turbines thanks to a group of residents from Falmouth, Massachusetts. This group of wind power victims will travel from Falmouth to the peaks of the Berkshires whenever a turbine proposal is up for debate. The poor placement of commercial wind turbines in Falmouth and the outreach of local citizens on Cape Cod and SE Massachusetts has all but stopped the wind turbine installations in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center wind turbine noise studies are a study in dishonesty.

In research supported by the US Department of Energy, Dr. Neil Kelly and his colleagues identified impulsive low frequency noise. The wind turbine infra sound and vibration produced “ Human Annoyance “ within neighbors homes. The study on infra sound was done in 1987.

Massachusetts politicians continue to obfuscate the crucial remaining question whether we adopt the wider vision of ensuring health and property right protection. There is evidence that there exists a campaign to promote health and well-being for the greater good at the expense of the health and well-being of a few.

The Massachusetts commercial wind turbine program required placement of up to 2500 wind turbines by the year 2020. Today there are around 100 commercial wind turbines and 2020 is around the corner. Even the Liberal news media has to admit the commercial megawatt wind turbine agenda in Massachusetts is a massive health and financial fiasco.

If the news media is looking for a poster-child for depicting the health hazards of wind turbines you only have to look at Falmouth, Massachusetts.

An attorney representing wind turbine victims asked representatives at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center why they would not just take down the poorly placed wind turbines. The turbines remain today.

Nils Bolgen the wind turbine director of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center in 2013 changed the requirements for megawatt wind turbine setbacks to 2000 plus feet from property line. In the same year the MassCEC admitted acoustic noise mistakes placing the Falmouth wind turbines.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center has never answered how many of its employees who worked on wind turbine projects left and went on to work for wind turbine companies. After all every Massachusetts politician knows Quid pro quo.

The Green Communities Act, was a pet of former convicted House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi serving his time in a federal prison. In 2008 the primary aim of the act was promoting commercial wind. Former convicted House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi is still in a federal prison " Quid pro quo. "

One viewpoint is Massachusetts politicians and the Board of Directors at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center have been embarrassed over the exposure of the poor placement of commercial wind turbines. The attempt to sweep the noise issues under the rug or just turn the page haven't worked. The residents of twenty one communities are not going to huff and puff and go away.

The placement of commercial wind is almost static in Massachusetts today. There are 4 commercial wind turbines being placed in Plymouth that have been on the drawing board since 2011. The Plymouth turbines are twenty five percent larger than the Falmouth wind turbines. Massachusetts lawyers no longer chase ambulances now they chase wind turbines.

Last, these Falmouth residents for years are ordinary individuals who find the strength to preserve and endure in spite of overwhelming odds.

The Massachusetts Attorney General needs to take judicial action against the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center for creating a second class group of citizens living under the blades losing health and property rights with NO compensation
