FHS Band to Pickup Christmas Trees for Recycling on January 17th

On Saturday, January 17th (Martin Luther King weekend), FHS band students and parents will spend the day picking up used Christmas trees and delivering them for recycling to Blacksmith Shop Farms. The Falmouth Band Parents have been organizing this service for over 10 years with support from many loyal customers and Blacksmith Shop Farms.

This event provides a tree removal service to Falmouth residence, supports recycling efforts and benefits music in Falmouth Public School. The fundraiser will raise money for the FHS students’ band trip to perform at Festival Disney in Orlando, Florida as well as for instrument purchases and repairs, competitions, and other instrumental music programs in Falmouth Public Schools.

Reservations can be made at falmouthbandparents@gmail.com by supplying the resident’s name, house number and street, village, e-mail address and telephone number. Reservations can also be arranged by calling 508-457-7185.

On the pickup date, a check made payable to Falmouth Band Parents, Inc. should be attached to the top of the tree in a plastic bag or advanced payment may be mailed to Falmouth Band Parents, Inc., PO Box 196, Falmouth, MA 02541. Christmas trees and checks should be at the end of the driveway on pickup day by 8 AM. The suggested minimum donation for this service is $10. Reservations should be made by January 13th.

Participants can also leave a plastic bag of nonperishable food items with the tree that the group will deliver to the Falmouth Service Center.
