GoFundMe Launched For Falmouth 'Community Hero' Brenda Swain
Swain, who has served as the director of the Falmouth Service Center for 17 years, is battling Stage 4 stomach cancer.

FALMOUTH, MA — A fundraising campaign has been launched for Falmouth Service Center Director Brenda Swain. Swain, who has led the organization for 17 years, has been on medical leave since the summer.
A GoFundMe campaign established to cover Swain's medical and household expenses calls her a "community hero." Swain has started chemotherapy, but her care plan will be palliative, according to the fundraiser.
Swain has served the community for more than 30 years. In addition to her work at the Falmouth Service Center, which started out as a food pantry and expanded to provide additional services under Swain's leadership, she worked as an educator, substitute teacher and director of programs for young children.
