Gosnold Says New Falmouth Site Just A Rumor
The company debunked talk of a potential 99-bed facility on Main Street this week.
FALMOUTH, MA — Gosnold Inc. is not looking to open a new treatment center in Falmouth, the company said this week amid rumors that it is planning to open a 99-bed dual detox facility next to St. Patrick's Church in Falmouth Village.
In a statement posted to its Facebook page, Gosnold said it listened to the public response to its proposed 99-bed treatment facility on Jones Road last summer and is continuing to seek an alternate location.
"It is our preference to remain local," the statement read in part. "We consider Falmouth our home. As our plans take hold, we will reach out to share them with the patients, families, and communities we have served since 1972."

The rumor started on Facebook from someone who heard that Selectman Douglas Brown learned the Royal nursing home on Main Street was a possible location for Gosnold, according to the Cape Cod Times. Brown told the Times he believes Gosnold after they made a "strong statement" Monday.
Gosnold is continuing to scout potential locations for its treatment center, including in Falmouth, but is "not prepared" to share its options yet, the Times reported.
