GRANT REQUESTS NOW BEING ACCEPTED BY FALMOUTH ROAD RACE, INC.

Falmouth Road Race, Inc. announced today that it has created an organized submission process for receiving grant requests from the community. Requests will now be reviewed twice a year rather than on a rolling basis. Requests for this fall and winter will be accepted until November 1, 2013. Falmouth Road Race, Inc. is committed to positively impacting individuals and businesses through consistent involvement with the community and annual philanthropic giving.

“Every year our community provides tremendous support by volunteering countless hours to make the Falmouth Road Race a world-class event that is enjoyed by elite and recreational runners as well as families from around the world,” said Scott Ghelfi, president of Falmouth Road Race, Inc. “We established the grant program as a way for us to give back and thank the community for its support for the past forty-one years.”

Most recently, Falmouth Road Race, Inc. made a multi-year commitment of $500,000 for the new All Purpose Community Field at Falmouth High School that will provide a place for residents to focus on health, fitness and athletics. The project is scheduled to break ground within the next year. Additionally, the organization has awarded grants this year to local organizations including Recovery Without Walls, Arts Alive, the Falmouth Softball Club and the Falmouth Senior center. This was in addition to the college scholarships given to ten graduating Falmouth high school seniors.

Organizations and groups interested in applying for a grant from the Falmouth Road Race, Inc. should provide the following with their request:
·       The organization name, contact name and email address
·       The amount requested, not to exceed $3,000.
·       The timeline for the project or initiative
·       Specifics on what the donation is to be used for and how it will better the organization or the community.

All applicants can visit www.falmouthroadrace.com/philanthropy <http://www.falmouthroadrace.com/philanthropy> for guidelines and information. All completed requests can be sent to philanthropy@falmouthroadrace.com for review. Deadlines for grant submissions in 2014 will be posted on the website by the end of the year.
