Housing Trust Accepting Nominees for Bruce Espey Award

Nominate an outstanding contributor to affordable housing in Falmouth.

The is accepting candidate nominations for the 2012 Bruce Espey Community Service Award, now through Aug. 2. The official nomination form, available here, will allow anyone who knows a deserving individual to nominate him or her for the annual community service award, which highlights outstanding contributions to affordable housing in Falmouth.

Last year's winner, President of the Falmouth Housing Corporation , was honored for “advocat[ing] endlessly on behalf of the needy,” according to the nonprofit group's Web site.

This year, the Housing Trust wants to extend its pool of worthy nominees. According to the nomination form, “The Award Committee is particularly interested in widening our net this year. We will entertain nominations of professionals and volunteers, and those living and working outside Falmouth as long as their work had benefited the residents of Falmouth, Massachusetts, this the nominees may include governmental officials and private individuals working on the state, county or local level.”

The winner will receive his or her award at the Housing Trust's annual meeting, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6, at 5:30 p.m., at the Falmouth Yacht Club. Note that both the candidate and the individual who nominated him or her must be available at that time, and be willing to pose for promotional photos.

Nominating papers must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Aug. 2, either in person at the offices of the Housing Trust, 200 Main Street, Suite 212, or electronically, at info@FalmouthHousingTrust.org.
