Hydraulic Fluid Leak Responsible For Falmouth Maravista Avenue Closure
It's estimated that 50 gallons of hydraulic fluid leaked from a broken hose line on a Nauset Disposal truck, officials said.
FALMOUTH, MA — The Falmouth Fire/Rescue Department released a cause for the Maravista Avenue road closure on March 1.
Just before 1:30 p.m. Engine 21 responded to a reported hydraulic fluid leak on Maravista Avenue in the area of Cypress Street, officials said.
A fluid spill going south and then down Philadelphia Street was found upon arrival. A Nauset Disposal Truck was located at the end of the street, with an estimated 50 gallons of hydraulic fluid leaking from a broken hose line.

Falmouth Department of Public Works provided sand to contain the leaked fluid and dike off any catch basins in the affected area, officials said.
Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protections was on-site to handle clean-up operations.

The road was closed for a time as a result of the crash.
