Kitten Season

Kitten's are a big responsibility

Our cat of the week this week is kittens. Kitten season has already started and we occasionally will have some kittens available for adoption. Please note that the photograph is a stock photo and may not reflect the kittens that are presently available. We frequently have a variety of adorable kittens available once the season gets into full swing. Our kittens are cared for in foster homes with volunteers who spend time socializing them and getting them used to interacting with people. They are only brought in to the shelter for adoption hours. Kittens are usually ready to be adopted into fur-ever homes after they reach 8 weeks of age and have had their first visit to the veterinarian. . While kittens are cute and adorable, please remember that they do require a fair amount of work and responsibility. Also, when adopting a kitten you are entering into a long-term commitment of approximately 15-20 years. People frequently adopt a pair of kittens, so that the kittens have an instant companion and playmate. This also means double the fun, with two playful bundles of fur engaging in all sorts of shenanigans.

If you would like to see if we have kittens available or visit with one of our older kitties, come in to the shelter at 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. We are open to the public on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or call our hotline for an appointment. Hotline: 508-540-5654.
