Local Pianist Performed at Woods Hole Woman's Club Gathering
Pianist and composer Glenway Fripp of Woods Hole was once again the featured performer at the Woods Hole Woman’s Club Pot Luck Supper on November 11, 2014. Club members, spouses, and friends enjoyed listening to Mr. Fripp’s musical compositions and improvisations.
Glenway Fripp is an accomplished musician who started playing the guitar at the age of eight. As a teenager he became enamored of the piano as well. He is well-versed in classical, jazz, blues, and popular show tunes. He has been a member of the “Blue Montana” local dance band, Jonathan and Amy Larkin’s band, the “Buzzards Bayou,” and the “Glenway Fripp Trio Band” where he plays the electric bass guitar. Frequently he is arranging and performing in Maine with “The Jazz Workshop.” Mr. Fripp has also arranged and composed music for the Woods Hole Theater Company and Downwind Productions.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, Club President, Jeannette Fullerton, summarized many of the observances and customs of Veteran’s or Armistice Day around the world.
