Police said a Falmouth officer was injured when arresting a Boston man accused of stealing a Mercedes E-Series sedan.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Boston man was arrested Friday morning after police said he stole a car and led officers on a chase from Mashpee to Falmouth.

Around 6 a.m., Falmouth police received a call from Mashpee officers that they were in a high-speed chase with a man driving a stolen blue 2014 Mercedes E-Class sedan. Mashpee police canceled the pursuit, but Falmouth officers found the vehicle and used a tire deflation device to slow down and bring the stolen sedan to a stop on Old Meetinghouse Road.

Falmouth police identified the driver as Ahmed Elsayed, 33. According to police, Elsayed refused to comply with officers' orders. Police said an officer was injured while forcibly removing Elsayed from the stolen car, though the injuries were not life-threatening.
