The Green Communities Act, was a signature achievement during former convicted House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi’s tenure, set ambitious goals for Massachusetts, including the installation of 2,000 megawatts of wind power by 2020.
The federally convicted ex-speaker Sal DiMasi’s was looking to build some 120 wind turbines in Buzzards Bay with his construction friends. Local activist ended the Buzzards Bay wind turbine installations by revealing Ram Island in Mattapoisett was the chief nesting area of the endangered Roaseate Terns in North America. These people don’t care about the environment.
DiMasi was found guilty of accepting $65,000 in kickbacks, in return steered $17.5 million in state contracts to a Burlington software company.
The state’s 2008 Green Communities Act has led to the poor siting of commercial wind turbines in 21 communities and over 100 million dollars wasted at the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal. An ocean port built with no rail link, cranes and only a legal opening at the hurricane barrier of 120 feet. The narrow opening does not allow wind turbine “jack-up” barges to fit through the gates.
Massachusetts taxpayers are paying $187,500.00 a month for thirty years on the bond payments for the construction of the incomplete ocean wind turbine port financial fiasco.
The former Governor Patrick administration secretly diverted nearly $27 million in public money to off-budget accounts. The money was from hidden “trust”
accounts with millions from state quasi-public agencies like the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative today known as the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. Much of the cash came from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) economic stimulus package used to build wind turbines.
The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative sold the Town of Falmouth its first wind turbine called Falmouth Wind 1. The agency after it changed its name to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center made arrangements to use 6 million in stimulus funds to build the second wind turbine called Falmouth Wind 2.
The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center has given Falmouth 1.8 million dollars in renewable energy tax receipts to help pay the litigation costs of the Town of Falmouth taking the health and property rights of its own citizens with no compensation. This is state taxpayer funded revenge on wind turbine victims.
The Town of Falmouth hid a noise warning dated August 2010 from Vestas wind company the manufacturer of the turbines. The town then hid an admission memo dated April 2, 2013 the state agency admitted acoustic noise “mistakes” in preliminary noise tests. The state agency also dropped a warning of two distinct types of noise from the wind turbines “regulatory” and “infra sound” formerly called “human annoyance.”
As many as 200 residential homes in Falmouth have lost their health and property rights due to the poor placement ( siting ) of commercial wind turbines

Massachusetts is probably the most corrupt state in the United States.
The former Massachusetts Attorney General and Inspector General refuse to investigate anything to do with commercial wind. The Massachusetts state legislature follows an unwritten rule of not prosecuting anyone who is against fossil fuels.
The so called Massachusetts war on fossil fuels is an agenda driven program that has caused millions if not billions in corruption. If you own a wind turbine in Massachusetts you can commit any type of crime including torturing your neighbors health and taking their property with no compensation.
