New Bedford Ocean Port Fiasco More Delays Public In The Dark

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center signed a lease with Cape Wind in September of 2014.

The two year lease requires that Cape Wind pay the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center $ 187,500.00 per month.

The news media again has left out the fact that the lease is contingent on Cape Wind obtaining financing.

The ocean wind turbine port was financed with green energy bonds. The bonds are the same as a loan or IOU that are backed by the taxpayers of Massachusetts.

Questions remain over how green energy bonds were used to build the ocean port if the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center had always intended to use the port to handle freight shipping.

The responses from potential operators indicates a wide range of cargo including industrial boilers. So much for buying green energy bonds.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center admits it has spent 113 million so far on the ongoing fiasco. The port is going into a “phase two.” The rail road link is a mile away blocked by four acres with an AM radio antenna. If that is not enough the federal channel outside the narrow legal entrance of 120 feet still needs dredging.

NO one knows the completion date and final costs.

A Request for Proposal was issued for a port operator in December of 2014. The request had to be completed and given to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center by February 23, 2015

It was learned today that there will be a Navigational Dredging Group Meeting on February 23, 2015 at 1 PM in the Ashley Room,1 st Floor , City Hall, New Bedford next to the Mayors office.

At what point do our political leaders become embarrassed and start telling the truth ?

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center has now changed the RFP, Request for Proposal deadline until March 16, 2015.

The cost of the port was estimated to be 35 million dollars by former Governor Patrick in 2010.

The taxpayers of Massachusetts need to be asking their local news media and political representatives why this information is being kept from the public.

There are news media groups in Massachusetts who blame the downfall of Brian Williams on the Social Media.

You have got ask why the news media is not reporting what is happening to your 113 million dollars.

You are not going to get this information from the news media in Massachusetts
