Murder Conviction Made In Falmouth Killing

A Taunton man could face life in prison for his connection to the 2023 slaying.

FALMOUTH, MA — A man accused of killing another here in 2023 has been convicted of murder, officials said late Thursday.

A Barnstable County jury found Taunton resident Adrian Black, 25, guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing of 19-year-old Milteer Hendricks, of Falmouth, according to a statement.

Black was arrested on June 12, 2023, in Taunton, following an investigation that began two days earlier.

Prosecutors said Black and four other people came to a Falmouth apartment complex with the intention to attack Hendricks, and that Black stabbed him in the chest.

"The victim was unarmed and outnumbered," the statement said.

Black's conviction follows a trial that began March 19.

His sentencing is scheduled for Friday. First-degree murder in Massachusetts carries a penalty of life imprisonment without parole.
