New Bedford Ocean Port The Truth Is Coming

New Bedford Ocean Port The Truth

‘Truth Is Coming and It Cannot Be Stopped’ Mismanagement or Corruption or Both ?

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center has described to the public that the New Bedford Ocean wind port is going to be built as a multi-use port. Really ? Do you believe them ?

There is a major problem in what the MassCEC has told the public over the years. The proof is in the pudding and there is plenty of pudding.

Below is an email from Siemens wind company that tells the State of Massachusetts that they need access to the New Bedford terminal 24/7. Complete access.

Today the MassCEC says the New Bedford port will be shared by both wind turbine companies and fruit & nut companies.

Folks, The terminal is at 113 million. There is still an AM antenna on 4 acres of the property and the MassCEC is moving the antenna to a new location. Who pays for this?

The rail link to the terminal is a mile away and the hurricane gate only has a legal clearance of 120 feet.

The federal channel outside the gates hasn’t been dredged since 1965.

The MassCEC says the port is going into phase two and three. The New Bedford ocean wind port is going into your pockets for hundreds of millions of dollars on an ill spent infrastructure project that has already been built at Quonset Point, Rhode Island.

The opinion and only conclusion that can be draw is the taxpayers of Massachusetts are being short changed over the total mismanagement of the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal.

The question needs to be asked why is all this information being disregarded and swept under the rug. Every day more questions are being asked. Is this the largest renewable energy failure in Massachusetts history ?

Here is the information you be the judge. Is this Mismanagement or Corruption or Both

On August 24, 2010 Siemens wrote a letter to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center detailing the requirements for an offshore wind turbine staging facility, and assessing the appropriateness of the proposed “South Terminal” (aka — New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal or NBMCT) Port Facility preliminary project design.

“Delivery of wind turbine parts and material by international cargo vessel. This comprises tower sections, electronics components, nacelles, hubs and blades. These items will be off loaded to the quayside, for movement to their designated storage locations. Storage onsite of sufficient number of turbine and tower components to facilitate efficient assembly and transfer to the development site. Assembly of nacelle components, including attachment of the hub and installation of aviation lighting etc. Assembly of all components in complete sets for loading onto the assembly vessel.

Loading assembled components onto the installation vessel, using both on-shore and vessel-mounted cranes as appropriate.

The following points summarize the requirements of a Port facility from the Siemens operational perspective keeping in mind that the requirements are also in general heavily dependent on the allowable timeframe given by our clients and the installation equipment (vessels etc.) in use:

“It is critically important that the staging area be dedicated to the wind farm activities with unrestricted access on a 24-hour per day basis during pre-assembly and installation operations. Locations that would require Siemens to share space with other unrelated ongoing uses would not be feasible or practicable. The South Terminal meets these criteria, because it can be made available for wind farm use on a 24 hour exclusive basis, including access between the are as.””

Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Statements about multi-use of New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal :

“The New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal is a multi-purpose facility designed to support the construction, assembly and deployment of offshore wind projects, as well as handle bulk, break-bulk, container and large specialty marine cargo. “
