New Bedford Terminal Morphs To Financial Fiasco
Massachusetts
January 22, 2014
Massachusetts Gov Charley Baker announced a budget deficit of almost one billion dollars from former Governor Patrick while hundreds of millions of dollars of borrowed state taxpayer funds are still being dumped into New Bedford Harbor.
The New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal was projected by former Governor Patrick to cost 35 million dollars. The project sits today incomplete at 124 million dollars. The project has had its name changed on an almost weekly basis to hide the ongoing fiasco from taxpayers. No one really knows the name of the terminal and no one has ever seen the lease between Cape Wind and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center who is the owner of the ill fated ocean port.
The ocean terminal has only a 120 foot legal width clearance at the hurricane gate, no rail link, an AM radio antenna that needs to be moved, a federal channel outside the gates not dredged , no cranes and needs more of your tax dollars for an ocean wind turbine port that was already built at Quonset Point, Rhode Island.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has never issued a federal permit to build and assemble commercial wind turbines at the incomplete New Bedford . The Army Corps of Engineers won’t certify the dredging inside New Bedford Harbor until after March 15, 2015.
The Massachusetts news media is bias and has become part of the green energy agenda. The media is plagued with many problems including financial problems, manipulation scandals, ignoring bad news and contributing to the “dumbing down” of the readers. You never read much about the father of the Massachusetts green energy movement former Speaker of the House Sal DiMasi sitting in jail with throat and tongue cancer.
The general population of Massachusetts has acknowledged inaccuracy, distortion, omissions and bias by the news media not presenting negative information about the misspending of state infrastructure funds on the New Bedford ocean wind turbine port , Charlestown blade testing unit and who could forget Evergreen Solar. These three projects alone account for the entire state debt.
In order to have a functioning democracy its important the news media dose not become a tool for manipulation with a self serving political agenda.
The news media today needs to give up its effort to control the green political agenda in Massachusetts. The editorial boards of many news paper outlets demand an unending spending of your tax dollars be spent on the Massachusetts renewable energy agenda of 2000 megawatts of renewable energy by the year 2020. The green agenda has already take the health of our citizens around commercial land based wind turbines with a type of noise described as torture with illegal property takings. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center admits the wind turbines in towns like Falmouth and Fairhaven were installed Ad Hoc and now looks at setbacks above 2000 feet from property lines and further as turbines increase in megawatts.
Now we are witness to the news media hiding important dates over green energy meetings, not reporting, changing dates or just not announcing canceled meetings in an effort to keep the general public from getting information about the New Bedford ocean wind turbine port and the financial ongoing fiasco.
For the second time in a year the MassCEC is asking for qualified port operators in New Bedford . The news media and MassCEC at this time have put local and state political officials in an embarrassing position.
Massachusetts politicians are asking its citizens to give up their health living around loud commercial wind turbines giving up their property rights and now take your life savings to spend every dime you have to fight the war on fossil fuels.
Folks, It is time to take a hard look at what is going on in New Bedford, Massachusetts or lose everything you own
