Noontunes Summer Concert: Grace Allendorf, mezzo-soprano and Emily Murphy, piano
A free noontime concert at Church of the Messiah in Woods Hole
Please join us on Wednesday, July 27th, at 12:15pm, for the final concert in our 2016 Noontunes Summer Concert Series. Mezzo-soprano, Grace Allendorf and pianist Emily Murphy will present the program. The concert will take place in the stone church at the Church of the Messiah, 22 Church Street, Woods Hole. Free-will offering.

Flourishing mezzo-soprano Grace Allendorf is known for her “creamy timbre, evenness of color and coloratura agility”. A consummate musician, she is dedicated to performing opera, oratorio, art song, musical theatre, and new music. Grace was thrilled to share the stage with the Metropolitan Wind Symphony earlier this year for a performance of Ticheli's "Angels in the Architecture." As a Vocal Apprentice in the Nahant Music Festival in 2014, she performed the role of Lilac Fairy in the World Premiere of “Sleeping Beauty” by Francine Trester. Other recent performances include concerts with Metropolitan Choral Artists and Arabella Ensemble. Ms. Allendorf currently serves as a section leader and soloist at First Parish in Milton and is a cantor at St. Richard's in Danvers. Ms. Allendorf holds a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Longy School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a minor in Theatre Arts from Brandeis University. She is a student of Jayne West and has participated in master classes with Ryan Turner, Sharon Daniels, James Maddalena, David Kravitz, Martin Katz, Sondra Kelly, and Sheri Greenawald.
Collaborative Pianist Emily Murphy is known for her sensitive playing and is a sought after pianist in the Boston area. Ms. Murphy has most recently performed recitals at Northern Arizona University and Smith College for the Willa Cather Society. She holds a Masters degree in Musicology from the University of Washington in Seattle and a Graduate Performance Diploma in Collaborative Piano from the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA. She is on the piano faculty at the Yamaha Music School in Boston and has a growing private studio. She continues to enjoy accompanying in the instrumental and vocal departments at the Longy School of Music and freelancing with singers and instrumentalists throughout the Boston area.
